As Information Security Coordinator for the County of Yolo, I manage a comprehensive cybersecurity program to ensure the secure operations of applications, systems, servers, and network communications. Since joining in August 2023, I've developed and implemented a vulnerability management plan that significantly enhances our security posture. My role involves conducting various security awareness programs, including targeted cyber security training campaigns and phishing testing, to elevate organizational security knowledge. I proactively monitor the threat landscape through industry and government resources, engaging in threat hunting activities such as intrusion detection, log analysis, and malware analysis.I play a critical role in designing and executing vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify and mitigate potential risks, while coordinating security incident response activities to effectively contain and recover from threats. Ensuring compliance with mandates such as CJIS, HIPAA, IRS 1075, and PCI-DSS is also a key focus, where I conduct assessments, respond to audits, and assist in developing essential reporting structures and policies.I coordinate and contribute to the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, conducting regular testing to ensure the operational readiness of County systems. My expertise spans cybersecurity awareness training, threat analysis, anti-phishing measures, and compliance management, enabling the County to maintain a robust security framework.
