At Pursuit I have developed and contributed to team based projects that have sharpened my skills as a front-end coder. While working with a team to develop a project named GameOn, I was in charge of the front-end functionality. Using Node.js as the framework to build the application my mission was to make GameOn user friendly and simple to navigate, but also to make each line of code clear and understandable for the team. I was also in charge of creating algorithmic solutions to handle functionality, such as user matching and rewarding users for their actions.​Another application that helped me become a strong full stack developer was my passion project called Universal Chat. The problem I solved developing Universal Chat was to encourage individuals to experience and meet people from different cultures by allowing the user to message anyone who speaks a different language. Universal Chat uses Google Translate API and Websockets to allow incoming messages to be instantly translated, thus breaking the language barrier.In my former career as a real estate agent, I honed my professional communication skills. Because of my hard work ethic I was promoted to a team leadership role, where I was in charge of leading fifteen new agents through training and mentorship. I did whatever it took to make sure each agent succeeded in the field, so I made myself an accountability partner by sitting down with the agent and setting monthly and yearly personal and financial goals. This reflects my ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.I am a focused professional who has been consistently praised as hard-working by my co-workers and management. Over the course of my 5-year career, I've developed a skill set directly relevant to the Full Stack Web Developer role you are hiring for, including computer aided engineering, project planning and product development cycle.
