Kelvin is a data scientist with 16 years of research and industry experience in data mining and machine learning. He is currently heading the Data Science & Analytics team in GXS.Previously, he built and led the data analytics team in the Internal Audit department of GIC and also created a startup which uses machine learning to create personalised advertisements for credit card users. Prior to the startup, he was a principal investigator in the Data Analytics Department, Institute for Infocomm Research at A*STAR Singapore. He led a broad range of financial analytics projects covering topical issues including financial crime and audit analytics, macroeconomic modeling, algorithmic trading, and consumer analytics plus participating in projects related to fraud detection and business process analytics. These projects involved working with prominent organizations including DBS Bank, VISA, MOF Singapore, and Ping An. His project with DBS on audit analytics won the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2015. Kelvin has published more than 20 research papers in the field of data mining, primarily on subspace clustering, graph mining and applying data mining on stocks investment. He holds a Ph.D. in computer engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
