Two years later, Novus was rebranded as Empower Marketing Asia with its expansion into Singapore.The Empower SG team has worked with clients like Capitaland, Singtel, HSBC World Rugby Singapore Sevens, Korean Music Wave, T2APAC, AIBI and SCAPE to name a few; while its Shanghai office has worked with global brands like Nike, On, Heineken, Tiger Beer, Jack Daniels and many more. Empower also served regional clients like China Broadband Communications, Tate & Lyle, BHS, USG Boral; and has executed campaigns and activations in Russia, India, China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Between 2009 - 12, Kelvin held leadership roles at global PR giants Edelman, Weber Shandwick and Burson Marsteller in Shanghai, serving as client-lead for Citibank, Bourbon Shipping, Sandvik Mining & Construction, Portman Group, Hennessy, New Balance, Timberland, Savills, PepsiCo, Nike, HSBC Champions, woyo.com, Swatch group, Adidas, and more.A digital-first marketeer with media, agency and client-side experience, Kelvin introduced World Wresting Entertainment (WWE) into China (2008-9) as Marketing Director (Greater China); while in 2013-14, he led the successful entry of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) into Asia as its regional Director of Marketing & Communications.Before moving to client-side, he spent over 5 years leading high-growth consumer teams at sports and entertainment agency Octagon (2003-8), first at its Southeast Asian headquarters before moving to its Shanghai office. Equally comfortable hosting a star-studded red-carpet for global clients or overseeing a 400pax international press centre, Kelvin began his career as a producer-presenter in radio (Power98FM) and TV (MediaCorp TV12), before moving into print (Straits Times, Today) and online (sports@) journalism.At Comfort Delgro Insurance, he restructured its Digital Business, added new products and channels for its flagship B2C platform -InsureSG.The father of two is currently preparing to launch his second start-up, MOVE&JOY, a social navigation lifestyle rewards platform; while actively promoting cycling culture, heritage and as a lifestyle.
