Provided project management support and troubleshooting for computer network equipment and associated protocols. Experience includes multiple vendor data communications hardware, Cisco routers and switches, Nortel routers, switches, and hubs. Cabletron SmartSwitches, CSU/DSU (Memotec, GDC, Adtran, TX Port), Cisco Load Balancers. Total understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSPF, RIP, BGP, PPP, and SNMP; working knowledge of Ethernet LAN connectivity including 10 meg ethernet, fast ethernet, gigabit, 10 gigabit Ethernet, and FDDI; working knowledge of WAN connectivity and WAN protocols including POS, SMDS, ATM, Frame Relay, and T1/T3 circuitry; experience with network management tools including Cabletron’s Spectrum Element Manager, NetCool, and HP Openview. Perform network analysis using network Sniffers and Niksun probes. Other networking experience includes VOIP, IP-TV, Wireless LANs, CSU/DSU, loopback testing, and Datakit.

Duties included repair and maintenance for the Office Imaging Division (South East region) as well as resolution of all chronic issues within the Atlanta area. Integral to this position was the ability to prioritize customer demands and manage time to suit that of the customer as well as the needs of the business. Major responsibilities included assisting other field engineers seeking technical assistance and maintain a cohesive team atmosphere. Provided critical feed back to the design department for modifications to equipment and implementation processes. Equipment types ranged from Image Source 85, Kodak Duplicator 2100 series, all Kodak brand high volume imaging systems as well as Cannon systems. Responsible for managing parts inventory for the team to minimize priority shipping. 98% customer satisfaction or greater was required for the largest customer base in Atlanta. Trained new hires on all office imaging equipment and provided strategies and mentoring.

Responsible for the maintenance of residential customer base in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, Ga.. Serviced wireless and hardwired alarm systems. Assisted all groups with installations and troubleshooting guides for quality control of the installation process. Was a resource for the sales team and worked closely with the customer for feasibility of installation determining wireless or hardwired system. Pretested systems prior to installation and analyzed any system failure at the customer site.

Awarded an apprenticeship position which included four years of college and a three year extensive training program. Job responsibilities incorporated all aspects of the telecommunication industry including central office/switch systems, transmission systems, customer premise equipment/ private branch exchange, and line plant design. The three year training process included theory and applied sciences. Attended a training facilities for two to four weeks then experienced the practical aspect with a mentor assigned for a period of usually six weeks. Training was divided into three general categories, CO, Customer Equipment and Outside Plant.
