Responsible for building Auckland Transport’s procurement capability, maturity, and performance and leading a team of specialist procurement capability resources (people, systems, and processes) as well as contract administration, corporate purchasing and Auckland Transport’s vehicle fleet. Activities include:Provision of leadership and coaching to ensure that team members are inspired and have a clear understanding of the external environment in which Auckland Transport operates, its strategic objectives, business priorities, and values. Leading the development and maintenance of Auckland Transport’s procurement strategy and supporting the development of associated category plans.Development and maintenance of a change management plan supported by an annual procurement maturity assessment that supports a continuous improvement in best practice procurement capability and performance.Ensuring that Auckland Transport’s procurement practitioners are assessed against a fit-for-purpose competency framework and an annual training program is provided to address competency gaps and to provide staff with development opportunities.Ensuring procurement systems, tools, templates, policies and processes are fit for purpose and effective.Development of performance reporting systems covering; the procurement function, major spend categories and supplier performance.Management and improvement of Auckland Transport’s contract administration and purchasing processes.Actively managing relationships with key business customers and external stakeholders.Development and maintenance of a high level risk register for procurement.
