Board Director

Kelvyn is responsible for strategic initiatives within the dual portfolios of people and culture and quality assurance. Reporting to the CEO, Kelvyn provides guidance as a member of the senior leadership team on people, culture, and quality matters. Through a collaborative leadership style, Kelvyn leads the organisations performance management, learning and development, compliance, audits, risk management, policies and procedures, incident reporting, complaint resolution, work health and safety, and workers' compensation. Kelvyn serves as Public Officer and Secretariat to the Board, and oversees the Board's sub-committees, including the Clinical Governance Committee (CGC) and Audit Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC) for which she presides as the Chair.

As the Training and Compliance Officer, Kelvyn collaborated with the HR consultancy and GeneralManager to spearhead the redevelopment of the organisation’s HR framework and transformativechange. This pivotal phase presented an extraordinary opportunity to advance her HR skills and rapidlyaccelerate her professional development. Concurrently, Kelvyn pursued a Master of Healthcare Leadership, focusing on psychological safety, governance, leadership and project management to assimilate an extensive breadth of HR knowledge and practical experience that would typically require considerable time to accumulate. This immersive learning experience paved the way for the move to the dual portfolio of HR and Quality management.

Overseeing generalist HR matters and quality assurance, Kelvyn reported to the HR Manager and theQuality Manager whilst completing Diploma in HR Management. This period was marked byorganisational changes necessitating autonomy, particularly amidst considerable turnover in senior management, witnessing transitions in both HR (4x) and Quality (4x) leadership roles.Kelvyn identified the need to find alternatives to training due to COVID-19 restrictions and established new strategic business relationships with a local RTO. Developed a learning and development program including costing and scheduling to meet the needs of the organisation under the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators.Established the first traineeship in conjunction with the local RTO. Public Officer and Secretariat for the Board including administration and registration of the new Constitution.

Supporting the General Manager as Executive Assistant was Kelvyn's first role with I Am Here. Working with the General Manager and Board established a strong interest in governance, leadership and human resources. This experience prompted a complete career change from complementary medicine in the pursuit of a career in human resources.

As a Mobile Naturopath, Kelvyn provided in-home consultations, using food as medicine, supported by pathology testing, evidence based herbal medicine and nutritional supplements to provide an individually tailored approach with realistic goals that suited their needs and circumstances.

Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Corporate Services Officer, Kelvyn enjoyed this wonderful short term venture. Kelvyn felt at ease with the mission and values of this organisation as a NFP organisation not just focused on good social and affordable housing, but also passionate about the well-being and mental health of their tenants. This was a fabulous organisation filled with great people.

Consultations as a Naturopath and Nutritionist, favouring a “food as medicine” approach for a wide range of health issues, as well as lifestyle changes, herbal medicines and other natural therapies. I worked with my clients to create specific health plans, taking into account the unique preferences and health goals of each individual.
