I have a deep passion and curiosity for storytelling, possess an attention to detail and enjoy finding ways to reach readers where they are with stories they care about. I have more than a decade of journalism experience writing, editing and cultivating a variety of sources to distill complex information for readers, including as a staff writer at The Washington Post.I’ve covered everything from political protests to the World Series to the latest scientific studies on exercise. At Washington City Paper, the alt-weekly newspaper in Washington, D.C., I oversaw the organization’s sports coverage. That included writing longform, enterprise cover stories and weekly articles on hyperlocal news and managing and editing a regular rotation of freelance writers. I also enjoy finding ways to give back to my community through coaching cross-country and track and field at Walter Johnson High School, my alma mater, and as a board member for the D.C. chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association.
