As part of a dedicated team, I advanced the Foreign Policy of St. Kitts and Nevis in the United States and at the Organization of American States (OAS).In this role, I leveraged my relationship-building and collaboration skills to strengthen ties with countries and international stakeholders, focusing on economic cooperation, sustainable development, trade, and tourism. I served as an advisor on key initiatives and as an alternate to the Ambassador.I conducted policy research and analysis, authoring position papers, concept notes, reports, and speeches for high-level officials and decision-makers. I also negotiated resolutions and declarations on various topics and represented the government at Heads of Government meetings. Beyond my core functions, I spearheaded the development, planning, and implementation of tourism and investment promotion projects, significantly enhancing the country's visibility on the international stage. I also engaged with diaspora groups to strengthen global connections and foster partnerships that contributed to national development.Throughout my career, I've consistently sought opportunities to drive efficiencies and innovation, resulting in many successful projects and process improvements.

Part of my entrepreneurship chronicles! I co-founded a beverage business that developed and produced a line of natural and organic ginger-based beverages, distributed in major health food stores like Whole Foods Market.This was a grassroots venture where I applied all aspects of my business coaching and knowledge. I spearheaded initiatives in concept development, branding, business and trademark registration, market/competitiveness research, business plan creation, beverage formulation, manufacturing, packaging, strategy, marketing, and financial management.I witnessed growth on multiple levels and helped build a product and brand that became a household name for many Chicagoans.

Over time, I became proficient in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), project finance, change management, and Six Sigma.With a strong proficiency in technology, I initiated and led digitization projects that increased tracking and financial reporting efficiencies. I also wrote software process instructions and provided training to staff. By the end of my tenure, I had earned my PMP certification, further validating my growth and expertise in project management.

This marked the beginning of an incredibly fulfilling journey into international trade and small business development—a shift from the world of accounting and a completely new landscape compared to the private sector.In my role, I was exposed to both international and regional trade, particularly Caribbean Community trade negotiations and compliance with World Trade Organization (WTO) obligations. On the local level, I had the privilege of guiding foreign direct investors, which led me to establish an investment promotion program, including the creation of an Investment Guide.Through managing economic development projects and conducting strategic analyses for business proposals and decision-making, I developed strong project management and writing skills. I also leveraged my ability to build lasting connections, delivering value to local businesses and foreign investors while forging regional and international alliances.I thoroughly enjoyed my career at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where I represented the country at high-level meetings and seminars, received comprehensive WTO training, and contributed to bringing innovation and efficiencies to the field. It was an experience that broadened my skill set and allowed me to assist many entrepreneurs along the way.
