Worked with a small team porting a remote manage system written in Python2 to Python3. Added new security features and the ability to manage newer versions of software. The system used the Flask framework, Maria DB, PyQt and Jinja2 templates (July 2019 – November 2020). At the Laboratory for Telecommunication Sciences (LTS) (June 2018 – July 2019), developed using the Go programming language. Ported an unstable information management program from Python to Go and added new capabilities. The program gathers and maintains information on a collection of mobile devices in support of research on the mobile devices. On the PRMA team (August 2017 – June 2018), performed cyber vulnerability assessment of the U.S. Army’s SATCOM communication center’s SOP, software/hardware systems and software upgrade processes.

September 2011 – August 2017 Performed CNO software development on Linux. Developed network communication modules, designed a security strategy and implemented OpenSSL algorithms. Performed binary analysis of a low level protocol. Developed a python interface which communicated with the protocol. C, C++, Java, and Python were used. July 2010 – September 2011 Performed CNO analysis, research and development on a control system that operates on Microsoft Windows. Developed software test cases. Used C, C++, an assembly-like mnemonic language, python and Windows BAT scripts.February 2008 – June 2010 Performed CNO analysis, research and development for a system running on Unix. Performed binary analysis of data and developed tools to retrieve information in a readable format. Developed other deployable tools using shell scripts to perform tasks on the system. C++ and shell scripts were used.July 2007 – January 2008 Performed CNO analysis and research on a new system using WireShark and IDA Pro. Identified requirements and produced a recommendation for an initial capability. Worked on the initial analysis of a MS Server with an MS SQL Data Base.April 2007 – June 2007 Filled a critical position for a fellow employee who was absent for a medical emergency. Fulfilled valid requests for tools from a repository. Developed an automated CM capability with subversion.May 2006 – April 2007 Served as task lead for maintenance of a large equipment control system. Miscommunications had resulted in incomplete equipment control. Identified the existing requirements discrepancies and corrected the problem. Managed project schedules, site upgrades and produced required deliverables. Developed device drivers written in C. November 2004 – April 2006 Served as team leader. Designed and built a replacement for an aging Oracle database system utilizing MySQL and J2EE services and protocols. Delivered the first spiral of this Enterprise capability ahead of schedule.

Took responsible for all Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for a web-based audio player. The audio player was originally written completely in C. Later the interface was ported to Java with a Java Native Interface (JNI) to the digital filters still written in C. The effort was to produce a network accessible audio tool utilizing Java Media Framework (JMF). The unknown, and risk, was whether or not the digital filters could be implemented in Java and still allow real time audio playback manipulation. Successfully developed optimized digital audio controls and filters. Also designed and developed an API for external access to the audio player.
