Logistics Provider And Assistant To Major General

Arlington, Virginia, Us

I joined the military in November 1983, directly out of high school. I spent three years in the Army, most were spent at Fort Polk, Louisiana. My responsibility was as a Logistics/supply chain Expert and Administrative Assistant to Two Star General, Major General, Kenneth E Leuer. This was my first introduction to established values, norms and how authoritative management, structure and large scale logistics and supply chain worked. It was an honor to serve with Major General Leuer, who is considered the “Father of the modern day Rangers," homage to Colonel William O. Darby, who was tabbed "Father of the Rangers" during the WWII era. General Leuer co-authored the Ranger Creed. In November 1986, I was honorably discharged and began a career with UPS in late November 1986.
