I retired from the Police in June 2024 after 30 years service most of which was on Roads Policing (since 1999), and for the last 13 years of my service I was a Roads Policing Specialist Trainer specialising in commercial vehicle training. Before my retirement I was the training lead for the National Carriage of Dangerous Goods Forum (NCDGPF) responsible for writing and maintaining the national dangerous goods tier 3 enforcement course used by all police services in the UK. I am a qualified DGSA hold a Certificate in Education (level 5) and am a qualified assessor and IQA.I have recently become a committee member of BADGP and look forward to doing more to help the organisation increase membership numbers and continue on the upward trajectory it is currently on thanks to the hard work of dedicated individuals. I am now the managing director of Hazken Training Ltd and can deliver road or sea DG training, course writing /IQA services and a full range of training in driver hours legislation. I have recently passed part 1 of my CAA dangerous goods trainer qualification for allClasses including radioactive and am now undertaking my part 2 assessments.
