  Since 2003 I have worked almost exclusively in the strategic planning of major utility infrastructure developments. An early project was leading the team that established the strategy for the utility network layouts for the London 2012 Olympic Park. This included assessing capacity requirements for each utility and determining, with the masterplanners, the optimum locations for the new primary substation, the energy centre and the principal routes for the utility networks. This was followed by a similar role for the Barra Olympic Park for Rio 2016. I have recently managed the utility team that developed the strategy for the Al Wakrah Football Stadium, the first of the new stadia to be built for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. In addition, I have directed the utility designs on a number of other large scale projects both in the UK, Europe and the Middle East; these include, the Millennium Dome (now the o2 Arena) which was the centre piece of the UK’s millennium celebrations; Ramallah, a new town for 30000 people in Palestinian Occupied Territories (West Bank); Romania Bucharest, city structure plan, and an Airport City proposal for Cairo in Egypt. I am currently engaged in the development of the utility network strategy for an Airport City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
