Intrigued by the unyielding logic of coding, I studied Computer Information Systems during my polytechnic days. Amid my bewilderment at people buying off-the-shelf packages and trying to make them fit, I moved to read Business to understand the various functionalities.Started my career in customer service and consumer loans within the financial industry, I progressed to manage and analyze financial data. Data analysis became an art for me. The challenges of wrangling raw data and translating them into insights fascinated me, leading me to explore value chains, data processes and pipelines.Often at work, I saw myself bridging the functional and technical aspects. I became good at communicating such interpretations to co-workers and other stakeholders. Only later did I realize that I was doing Business Analysis.I enjoyed making sense of my daily tasks, knowing how they contribute to a positive difference. Task alienation and repetitive solitary work are not my cup of tea. I believe to have a growth mindset is to stay inquisitive; effective learning cannot come from dry cognition.
