The Containment Answer (TCA) is a full-service secondary containment provider to the Agriculture, Earthworks, Engineering, and Oil & Gas Industries. I was responsible for new business development and existing account management for more than 100 accounts (oil & gas, EP&C) including Taqa North Ltd., Trialta Projects, Propak, Bering Exploration, Harvest Operations Corp, Vantage Engineering, Grey Owl Eng., Alvopetro, and Kelt Exploration.

In 2008, I was forced to leave my full-time employment to care for an ailing parent. I decided to combine my industry contacts and my passion for golf into a successful part-time business venture.I developed the idea of negotiating a price discount for golf courses with a major Canadian beverage company in return for sponsorship at golf courses. The concept proved to be such a win-win proposition for both parties that I was able to negotiate the deal with more than 60 golf courses in Alberta that year.During this time, I also worked as Operations Manager for the PGA Web.Com Tour responsible for managing product and service contracts and optimizing sponsorship sales. In addition, I continued sales work on a contract basis.

DC Energy (now Total Oilfield Rentals) was a provider of drilling, completion and production equipment to the oil and natural gas industry throughout western Canada. I managed a portfolio of 50 oil and gas companies.By leveraging my relationships from my previous role, I was able to develop new accounts for DC Energy, including Penn West, Talisman, CNRL and Husky. The challenge I was able to navigate was converting customers from oil and gas camp services into ones for completions, drilling and production services.

PTI Group is one of North America’s largest fully integrated suppliers of remote site support, providing temporary and permanent workforce accommodations, food services, facility management and environmental services. I managed accounts with major oil and gas companies, including Penn West, Talisman, Husky, Apache, Ensign Drilling, CNRL, and Burlington/Conoco Phillips.In one instance, I received a call from my contact at Talisman Energy on Boxing Day telling me they needed to procure four 20-man camps urgently. Talisman’s regular provider could not meet their needs within the deadline and I immediately began making calls to win the opportunity for my company. I was able to rapidly work with my co-workers and contacts to win the $500K contract and help Talisman meet its deadline.
