In April 2018, I established Nuway Site Management Ltd with a view to providing high quality Site and Project Management services to construction companies operating across London and the Home Counties. My focus is on managing sites with foresight and precision, underpinned by 30 years’ experience in the construction industry. A key part of that is holding Health & Safety is highest regard from start to finish, seamlessly weaving highest standards of HSE planning in to site management throughout the project lifecycle.In recent years, I have been primarily focused on commercial and residential fit-out works on some of London’s most prestigious properties across Mayfair and Belgravia, with budgets typically in the range of £1m-£5m. As Contracts Manager, I was responsible for the effective and profitable management of multiple refurbishment contracts on a portfolio of prime commercial and residential properties in central London.Worked closely with Structural Engineers, Architects, and Junior Site Managers ensuring the sites under my control were running smoothly, monitoring and analysing work programmes to check that time scales are realistic and achievable.Further responsibilities for interviewing and selecting subcontractors, managing subcontractor workloads, quality assurance, preparing reports and contributing to progress meetings.

As Project Manager at Wates, I worked across multiple sites with our end-client (Camden Council) refurbishing low rise Social Housing apartments. Much of the work involved bringing common areas (hallways, terraces, facilities rooms) to modern Class O Standards.Main responsibilities included control of direct and subcontractor labour, all matters relating to Health & Safety, working closely with Quantity Surveyors to final account, programming contracts and ordering management for materials.

Spent 3 years with Apex as Contracts Manager for the Interiors Division, during which I spent time working on a school extension and an internal refurbishment for the London Borough of Bromley, amongst other projects across London and south of England. The most significant project during this period was the rebuilding of a large, fire and rainwater damaged house in central London; a property divided into eight apartments. I was called in to the project late, to help drive a turnaround and recover the project. My role involved being the main point of contact for eight disgruntled Leaseholders, the Loss Adjuster, Architect, Structural Engineer, Local Authority and several specialist sub-contractors.In addition to taking responsibility for all matters relating to Health & Safety, programming of the works, budgeting and financial control, reporting to the Divisional Director on a weekly basis, I turned the project around from a loss-making, behind schedule ‘problem’ in to a profitable project, with eight grateful and happy residents returning to their home more quickly than they had come to expect.

As Project Manager at Apollo, I was responsible for the management of several Decent Homes Projects throughout London. At any one time, I was responsible for up to three projects consisting of both internal and external refurbishment of occupied properties, with a Site Manager and an RLO on each project.Responsibilities included all matters relating to Health & Safety, quality control, communicating with clients, attending tenants’ meetings, programming project works and dealing with on-site financial matters. This also involved regular financial meeting with Quantity Surveyors and reporting to Divisional Directors.During my time with Apollo I worked closely for one year with Gravesham Council playing a key role in the establishment and management of a five-year Partnering contract. Also spent some time working on disabled adaptations for London Borough of Greenwich.
