I have been a real estate attorney for approximately 15 years. The current economic situation has dramatically altered the practice of real estate law. In the "good ol' days," my real estate practice focused mainly on residental real estate closings. Currently, I am doing mortgage modifications for people who want to save their homes but who do not have the equity or credit score to refinance out of bad or unaffordable mortgages; foreclosure defense and short sales.It is unusual for attorneys, but in these areas there are many "unwritten rules." I have found to be most effective, it is critical to build relationships with banks and their lawyers while being a strong advocate for the distressed property owners.In addition to expanding my law practice and raising 5 children with my wife, my goal is to find more time play my guitars, piano and violin.
