Board membership in two organizations; As Chairman of Osteotech Inc., (NASDAQ OSTE) a leader in the osteobiologic space providing tissue engineered products for bone grafting, I negotiated the sale of Osteotech to Medtronic, Inc. Currently, I am a board member of Conformis Inc, a venture backed start up developing unique, patient specific orthopedic joint replacement products.

CEO and Chairman of this venture backed start up. Axya invented an ultrasonic suture welding technology targeting arthroscopic soft tissue repair in sports medicine. Recruited and developed an organization to complete the development and introduction of the technology. Raised over $60.0 million in venture capital funding. Technical challenges prevented the full expansion of the company and it was absorbed into another business.

After a brief consulting assignment for the CEO, joined the company as president of the Surgical Business unit. Haemonetics produces and markets product for the blood banking and surgical segments. My responsibility was to reorganize the business unit around its Cell Saver product line.

Recruited by venture capital investors in this innovative wound closure company using ulltrasonic energy to dissect and close tissue during surgery. Revamped sales and marketing, driving toward profitability and sold sold the company to Ethicon Endosurgery in 1995.

CEO of this venture backed start up which was developing a computer based system in support of an endoscope which would produce a three dimensional image for use in laparoscopic surgery. Raised over $20.0 million in venture funding. The technology could not be successfully commercialized and the company was disbanded.
