Long history of experience with industrial applications of XR. Retired from 30+ year career with Electric Boat / General Dynamics. In the early 90's led development of a large-scale VR application for design review. This became the electronic mockup used to design the Virginia Class submarine. This technology was later used on all new ship design programs across the DoD and industry. Did early R&D with wireless networking and mobile computing. Extensive work with advanced manufacturing technologies. In recent years pioneered the use of AR for manufacturing. Developed AR tool currently used in production work at Electric Boat. Long involvement with the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP). Recent involvement with the National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT). Named ACM Distinguished Engineer in 2012 for significant accomplishments in computing related to Virtual Reality.
