VolunteerDelaware County Common Ground Free Store Jun 2006 - Present• Began helping out as a volunteer performing many tasks from helping the store open its doors to performing various tasks related to running the day to day operations of the store.• In 2009, I successfully aided with the development of grant proposal which allowed the store to acquire much needed funds to advance them from a completely paper-based environment to an almost paperless environment.• I used my extensive experience as a volunteer helper in the free store as well as the experience of other helpers to design and develop a SQL Server database and .Net 3.5 Web-based system (called CGFS) to manage all aspects of the clients experience in the store. This has allowed the store directors to produce detailed reports on client and volunteer activity as well as significantly increase productivity in the store, something that was impossible with the paper-based system.• After retiring that application, another application was built using Access by a different Volunteer in 2018. By late 2019, the Free Store had plans to open a second store location. The previous Access application was not able to handle multiple locations. I was called for help and ultimately built a new system using Salesforce.com which launched in March of 2020. I worked with Salesforce.com to get 10 free licenses for the Free Store, created a development sandbox, a staging/testing sandbox, and a production instance. I implemented The NonProfit Success pack and configured Saleforce to handle any number of stores simultaneously. Accounts are configured to represent households, Contacts represent family members, and Opportunities are configured to represent a shopping visit. There is a lot of configuration, triggers, validation rules, and Apex code to implement business rules and manage the shopping experiences of our clients. The staff has the ability to login from anywhere to do reporting and data clean up tasks, making working form home very easy.

Distinguished Member Of Technical StaffVerizon Wireless May 1994 - Apr 2019Basking Ridge, Nj, Us• My career with Verizon Wireless started as a Computer Operator in Irvine, CA in May of 1994. After moving to Dublin, OH in June of 1998, I was soon leading a team of 13 developers. My responsibilities included the development of coding standards and best-practices, performing code walk-throughs, and interviewing and selecting candidates when job openings arose. I also oversaw the design and development of our custom national Sales Force Automation product and later our various Salesforce.com orgs, while taking on the more complicated and visible development projects. I also provided training and mentoring, as well as solving more complex problems when they arose. • More recently, I was the sole developer of a SOAP/REST Web Service Framework that was designed to link internal Verizon web services to Salesforce.com. The framework is written in Java and utilizes JBoss and Apache on a Linux Operating system. I provided all the system administration on the on-prem Linux servers as well the AWS instances and creating AWS EC2 Instances when needed using the Verizon generated AMIs.• I was awarded a patent (US 8,973,118 B2) and was the sole inventor of a token-based security protocol used to control access to web services. We used the framework on our original Sales Force product written for the .NET Framework, of which I was also the sole developer. The patent is owned by Verizon Wireless and I am named the sole inventor. The application was filed on 12/14/2011 and was awarded on 03/03/2015. It has since been referenced by other patents from Microsoft, Qualcomm, IBM, Hulu, Amazon, and many others. -
