I've wanted to go into startups since I can remember. The challenges and allure of creating something special solely out of an idea, has always been my calling and my strength. Fortunately, at an early age, I realized that business is based more on human psychology than anything else and so I chose to dedicate my efforts into developing my Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Emotional Intelligence (EI). I've spent most of my adult life trying to learn and prosper in every industry I can - garnering real world MBAs by immersing myself in different industries and broadening my skillsets. Through that journey, I've had successes in Sales and Finance (licensed financial advisor ranking 8 out of 380 for new clients), Acting (awarded the Best Actor at the Detroit Black Film Festival), Restaurant Management (opened an upscale restaurant, working as Front of House Manager and Assistant Chef, responsible for increasing revenues by 34% in successive years), and Fine Art (Fine Art Resident for EmpireDAO in SoHo's iconic Germania building located at 190 Bowery, as well as showing in 13 shows in 4 days in Miami Art Basel). During this time, I tried to analyze the problems and opportunities in every industry.

Multidisciplinary OperationsHiwave Jan 2023 - PresentNew York, New York, United StatesSome time ago I was approached and presented with the opportunity to provide some artwork and designs for a tech startup. The company specialized in utilizing NFC technology (which was new and foreign to me at the time), in order to better connections between people. They wanted me to provide a signature artist series for their products. I did some research and due diligence and was amazed at what the company was doing and their intended mission; it immediately struck me as the future standard and a revolutionary step into elevating connectivity and interaction. Fascinated, I went further down the rabbit hole in my research and discovery, and found myself utilizing my knowledge from my past lives and industry experience in developing some strategies for new product development, horizontal and vertical market penetration, and new use cases for the HiWave products. After sharing my designs with a member of the HiWave team, I also shared these market insights. That member put me in contact with HiWave’s Founder and CEO. A few zoom calls and 1 on 1’s at the Harvard Club later, I became a part of the team. A brief fast forward and I’m now hands on and knee deep in all sorts of revenue generation, multilevel influencer campaigns, local and global brand partnerships, event planning - from renaissance workshops to art exhibitions to hospitality rebranding and all types of networking functions, luxury fashion and merchandise, high end swag bags, artificial intelligence software integration and viral social media content creation. We’ve even secured a partnership with an organization dealing with rare antiquities, wherein a museum patron can use our product to scan a megalodon tooth fossil in order to play an augmented reality video showing the size and scale of the ancient creature. With HiWave the connections are boundless and the future is bright. -

Front Of House Manager, Assistant ChefJ. Alexander'S Restaurants Jun 2008 - Sep 2012Jacksonville, Florida, United StatesI was one of the highest recruited in my class and decided to take a position with J. Alexander's - an upscale but trendy boutique restaurant chain. Upon being hired, I asked if I would be able to open up their newest Jacksonville location when I finished my training 3 months later. I was told, "we don't send trainees to open our restaurants. We not only send our veterans, but only the best of the best." I asked, "what if I do really well and prove myself?" They replied, "Sure. We'll see." Three months later, I received the call - "You're going to Jacksonville." For those unfamiliar, opening a restaurant is an insanely intense task - particularly in a saturated market. There are zero days off until months 6-12, 14-18 hour days. I managed, hired, and trained a staff of over 70 employees. I started off as a Front of House Manager and quickly became the "face" of the restaurant. On my days "off" it was my job to go business to business and build business - meeting people all over the city and getting them to come and give us an opportunity. On my days "on", it was my job to make sure that every single person who entered our doors came back. And I did. I instituted the Guest Relations Program which identified and personalized the guest experience, to take curated guest experiences to an unprecedented level. We had gotten rid of our Assistant Chef and so I was asked to replace him. Shortly thereafter, I was Assistant Chef, Front of House Manager, and running five departments in total. We managed to get in the black our first year. The local NFL players would text or call me personally for reservations. We increased revenue by 34%in successive years and were able to keep other restaurants in the company's lights on. From guest relations to new business partnerships, hospitality management to P&L analyses, operations management to promotion and product development - opening a business, especially in hospitality - is an invaluable accelerator for life.
