Whatever the client needs were, I amresponsible for making sure their needs were met. I am responsible for taking care of all the client’s SQL Servers needs. The client’s businesses varied, but primarily are from the healthcare, transportation, higher education, insurance, and manufacturing industries. This included direct communications with the client, responding to issues as well and designing and implementing solutions for the client’s database needs. In some cases, I and my team were the only SQL Server DBAs, in other cases, we worked with the client’s DBAs to ensure smooth operations as well as addressing future needs. My responsibilities include performance tuning, backup and recovery, coding, SSIS, testing, upgrades and installation of SQL Server instances. • Direct communication with the client to understand their needs and propose solutions• Be the go-to expert for any questions a client may have in all areas of SQL Server• Create solutions in SSIS • Database Monitoring and incident response• Design and architect solutions for the client, including HA and DR.• Work with client for database migration to AWS or Azure Show less

As a Senior DBA, I developed SSIS packages to hit Informix, AS400, Oracle, and Sql Server databases that run every 30 minutes allowing managers to get intraday statistics for their associates. I successfully designed the database, and created all the ETL packages for a new data warehouse to facilitate future reporting and to simplify a complex environment. Initially brought on as a contractor, was given a full time position as the primary SQL Server developer responsible for creating reports and ad hoc queries relating to the Chase Divestiture project. Main responsibilities include working with business users to understand reporting requirements, writing code for those requirements and delivering the completed reports to the users. Successful completion various ETL projects utilizing Kettle (open sources ETL Tool) and MySQl Databases along with SSIS and SQL 2005. The main task was to create automated nightly jobs on both platforms to perform integrity checks on loaded data and create notifications upon success or failure utilizing SQL Mail in the case of SQL Server.

Successful completion of an ETL project for moving data from one invoice processing system to another one as the current system is going to be retired in May, 2010. The code is all written in TSQL as it is a onetime load. This includes writing all scripts, testing, and QA to ensure quality of the data.
