Talks about #nextgentalent, #riskmanagement, #insurance, #scholarships, #experientiallearning, #coursedevelopment, and #higheredanddonorcollaborationI am the University Partnerships Director for The Spencer Educational Foundation responsible for our Merit-Based Scholarships Program and overseeing and cultivating relationships with higher education institutions and donor partners, including around RMI Course and Program Development and Experiential Learning initiatives. Spencer has an overarching goal of broadly supporting students, faculty, donors and community stakeholders, and building a diverse pipeline of risk management and insurance talent. In 2024, I had the sincere pleasure of overseeing 84% of Spencer's Program-related spend where we achieved record awards!Prior to joining Spencer, I spent five years in higher education at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business managing robust teaching, professional development, and service obligations as a full-time Clinical Instructor. Highlights include receiving an Exemplary Faculty Award (the most comprehensive and highest recognition for a full‐time faculty member), an Innovations in Teaching & Learning Award (national anthem kneeling protests and first amendment implications), various Grants (InsurTech), being actively published in top-tier journals (law/insurance), and advising Barney’s Spencer-RIMS Risk Management Challenge Team (first place finish in 2020/21; top eight finish in 2021/22). Before joining Barney, I spent an additional twenty years in Fortune 200 and legal environments, including globally (and profitably) managing legacy Chubb's Cybersecurity and Media & Entertainment portfolios. I also led multiple lines of Professional Liability business from a claims perspective, often involving substantial staff management responsibilities.
