During my time in security I've been exposed to a wide breadth of technologies and the tools to secure them. I have hands-on experience in network security including firewalls, IPS, and network monitoring tools. I've built programs from scratch, and I've helped build security into cloud environments including AWS and Azure. I've used several different anti-virus solutions, and have a strong background in infrastructure security in general.I'm dangerous with Splunk, and have monitored most enterprise platforms including firewalls, IPS/IDS, anti-virus solutions, servers, IIS/Apache logs, and homegrown software applications. I'm also familiar with the Splunk Enterprise Security App, as well as some other SIEM tools such as Logrhythm. In terms of vulnerability management I've used both Rapid 7's Nexpose platform as well as Qualys. Given my diverse educational background, and successful integration with other business units, I have a unique insight into how the security program and the business align. The true nature of my job is to help an organization's leadership understand their risk tolerance, understand their current risk posture, and then design solutions to close that gap which fit within the organization's strategy. I'm a risk broker to the business.I am accustomed to a fast paced work environment and I welcome a challenging work load. Although I enjoy technology and all it's benefits, my favorite part of any job I take is getting to know the people around me. My colleagues are always the best part. I absolutely love talking to people teaching them about what I do, and learning from their experience.
