I manage all database operations and supervise two junior dbas. My daily responsibilities includes the use of ETL/ELT tools, ERwin, APEX, AWR, Oracle Grid Control, Golden Gate Replication, DataGuard recovery, RMAN, PL/SQL, UNIX scripting, perl and JAVA support. I deploy and maintain Oracle 11g, Postgres and MS SQL Server Databases on Solaris, Linux and Win 2008 R2. I am responsible for installs, sizing, tuning, upgrades, backups, replication, recovery, maintenance operations and support of all enterprise Geospatial databases. I design and write data storage solutions for new application projects. I write system requirements documents and translate the requirements into system specifications. When I arrived at the PDC, I architected a new system, writing requirements and specifications documents. I use TOAD and ERwin design modules to create logical/physical designs and generate installation scripts for the terabyte-sized Geospatial Data Warehouse. I write ELT/ETL data loading scripts for many types of domestic and international data sources and feeds. I architected and wrote the centralized identity management systems used in all our applications. My current initiatives include architecting, designing and developing new database components of enterprise geospatial data warehouse for Homeland Security and international clients. I continue to architect and establish data standards and write the associated documentation and quality control processes. I wrote an Oracle to Postgres pl/sql utility package to migrate Oracle database schemas, datatypes, triggers and procedures to Postgres. Created new LDAP user security system and wrote the SQL and PL/SQL migration programs to populate the LDAP from the Oracle source.

Largest( in terms of pages) newspaper in US.Sr. Oracle DBA with 2 subordinates.Responsible for large databases: subscribers, classified and display ads running on Solaris Enterprise Servers with Hitachi raids. Also responsible for multi-dimensional, weekly mailer warehouse. Responsibilities include installs, backups, disaster recovery, PL/SQL coding and Informatica application.
