As the fractional CTO, Ken’s role began at the inception of the startup integrating ideas while leading the design and development of the product with external and internal teams while assisting the evolution of the business model. The MVP of the SAS product for Selequity was delivered along with its first revenue within 6 months.Selequity is an online platform providing accredited investors access to professionally operated, private real estate investments and allowing commercial real estate owners access to a broader range of investors.Selequity launched at the TechCrunch Disrupt Conference in May 2015. Selected as one of the top 24 from over 1,000 startup applicants, Selequity pitched live to a crowd of 2000 in New York City,

Rejoined HOK, with a mandate to keep HOK and its diverse clients 5 to 10 years ahead in innovation and advanced technology by creating new services and software products while leading the vision, strategy, design and delivery of a broad integrated knowledge ecosystem. As an entrepreneur, provided innovation and technology leadership through a vast array of enterprise and industry efforts around sustainability, lean delivery, biomimicry, as well as a member of the “BLUE OCEAN" internal accelerator effort to create new business opportunities for HOK and their clients.HOK is one of the world’s largest international architecture and engineering firms with 26 offices and 13 market segments’.

Served as the founding Executive Director and a technical leader of the non-profit industry-wide startup currently identified as the buildingSMART Alliance.The Alliance is a global effort by the building industry-defining a shared communication framework through software object models for the design, construction and management of buildings.As Executive Director and agent of the Board, and a technical lead, Ken led the startup, establishing and building an international organization, including 9 country chapters and overseeing membership growth to 300 companies in the U.S. chapter.Member organizations included AEC firms, technology vendors, product manufacturers, corporations, universities, and the US and international government agencies. The rapid international growth and recognition of BuildingSMART Alliance was attributed to persistence in implementing strategies the industry embraced.

My role included leading the design, development, and integration of software technologies globally across HOK..Projects included technology innovation work for clients such as AT&T (Pleasanton, CA), PG&E (San Francisco, CA), Smithsonian (Washington, DC), and Kajima Construction (Tokyo, Japan).A leader in the development of HOK DrawVision (1989 First in the AEC industry Object based building modeling BIM system),

A Startup spun out of HOK to sell and support DrawVision the first 2D/3D object oriented building modeling and design system.

My career started in 1982 as an architect and software developer as part of a small team building the first 2D/3D database CAD computer-aided design and animation system for HOK called HOK Draw. As part of the development team, I was involved in the development of HOK Space, a building facilities space inventory system integrated with CAD and HOK Graph for generating business intelligence graphics.
