As a motivated journalist with a strong background in communication, writing, and design, I am skilled at adapting to new situations, managing multiple tasks, and collaborating with sources to produce engaging content. With experience covering local news, I am knowledgeable in sports, politics, and legal matters, and able to comprehend and analyze complex documents. I am well versed in the California Public Records Act and FOIA. Currently, I am serving as a Media Assistant at Oakland Roots Sports Club where I organize media credentials, transcribe interviews, and write post-match recaps. Previously, as a Public Information Office Assistant at Laney College, I wrote and edited emails, website copy, and social media posts, and designed promotional materials. I have strong communication skills, computer literacy, and time management skills, and am proficient in Google Applications, Writing, Graphic design, and the Adobe Creative Suite. With an Associate Degree in Journalism from Laney College, I earned a 4.0 GPA and was the Managing Editor of Peralta Community College District's only student-run news publication, The Citizen, where we were awarded the James Madison Freedom of Information Award.
