As part of the NSW Government’s $700 million State-wide Mental Health Infrastructure Program, the project involves the construction of a new facility adjacent to Concord Hospital that will allow expansion of its existing forensic mental health services. The new facility will provide low and medium secure mental health beds.Key Responsibilities:• Procurement and management of design consultants across multiple disciplines for the delivery of design documents required for tendering of the main works.• Leading Project User Group meetings during the Design Development Stages.• Liaising with other Capital Consultants for the development of the Construction Budget (Cost Plan), including mitigation strategies in the form of value engineering.• Development and finalisation of the contract and design documents for tendering, establishment of a tender evaluation committee and coordination responses to tenderers queries.Key Achievement:• Successful procurement of the Main Contractor on budget and within the required time frames.

The project consists of the construction of a new multi-storey carpark and street level spaces at Concord Hospital, providing a total of 850 car spaces. The first stage consisted of the demolition of an existing hospital ward to establish a 300-space on-grade carpark and was completed in June 2023. The second stage is under construction and is expected to be completed at the end of 2024. Key Responsibilities:• Project lead on site for the delivery of the project. • Lead coordinator between the main contractor and the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD), including disruptive works activities • Frequently updating the client, Health Infrastructure, on construction activities, program updates and construction budget.• Coordinating activities with the other Capital Consultants to monitor issues relating to budget, payment claims and authorities. • Administration of the GC21 contract, including the production of payment claims and variation negotiation and instructions.• Production and presentation of briefs to governing bodies for items revolving around budget expenditures, key risk activities and upcoming milestones.• Overseeing the coordination of the project closeout activities, including commissioning, defect rectification and review of the necessary handover documents (operation manuals, warranties, as-built plans).Key Achievements:• Successfully kept the Construction Cost within the allocated Construction Budget. • Delivered stage 1 of the carpark on time, with minimum defects and with a highly satisfied client.

The Sydney Place project is a $700m design and construct project in the heart of Circular Quay, Sydney. The works consists of the delivery of a 260m high office building, as well as, new retail spaces and facilities to the City of Sydney Council. Construction started in mid-2015 and is expected to finish in 2022.Key Achievements:• Successful negotiation of works packages with tenderers, leading to all contracts being allocated within the budgeted amount. • Delivery of critical service rooms to State Authorities ahead of projected program.• Lead the successful demolition of the existing Jackson on George building, with no safety incidents and while working in a contaminated environment.

Part of the new business team working on the tenders and ECI for multiple projects, including the Statewide COVID-19 Temporary Hospital for NSW Health.Key achievements:•Value engineer design proposals to a total of $5m.•Optimised construction methodologies with subcontractors and consultants, reducing duration of time critical activities.•Delivered prototype ICU beds and supporting spaces for the COVID-19 hospital in 3 days to NSW Health for their review and to ensure construction feasibility.

The Westmead Central Acute Services Building (CASB) is a $460 million project located at the heart of the Westmead hospital precinct. This design and construct project will deliver a 14 storey hospital linking the existing adult and children hospital in Westmead, Sydney. Key Achievements:• Lead Engineer for the successful delivery of the dual intraop CT and MRI, the first of its kind in Australia.• Successful delivery of prototypes ahead of programme, enabling early review by stakeholders and use of facility by LHD for training purposes. • Successful completion of areas under my responsibility ahead of time, enabling early client handover. • Lead the development of the construction programme for all fitout activities, improving build sequence while reducing overall duration and de-escalation of time critical activities. • Managed client expectations by cultivating good relationships and openness throughout the project. • Mentored and managed a team of site engineers and graduates.

The Ryde Garden project is a $264 million design and construct contract to deliver three residential towers in North Ryde, Sydney. The project involved the construction of 830 apartments with parking for 730 cars, 2000 m2 of public space and 1000 m2 of non-residential space divided between residential amenities and commercial spaces. Key Achievements:• Developed and optimised the fitout programme, typical sequencing and commissioning programme. • Managed the successful delivery of PODs, leading to a shorted construction cycle.• Lead the successful connection of essential services to the buildings, allowing for an early start to the commissioning activities. • Mentored junior engineers on the resolution of services clashes.

The Northern Beaches Hospital is a $540 million design and construct project between Healthscope, BVN and CPB to deliver a 70,000m2 hospital in Frenchs Forest, Sydney. The facility includes 488 beds, 14 operating theatres, 6 surgical suites and a modern inpatient mental health facility. Achievements:• Lead engineer for the fitout activities for plant rooms, pathology department, mortuary and commercial kitchen.• Development of quarterly programme for fitout activities.• Review of construction drawings and specifications to identify constructability issues.

The new Royal Adelaide Hospital is a $1.8b PPP project to design and construct a state of the art hospital in Adelaide, South Australia. This is to date the largest tertiary hospital in the Southern Hemisphere, spanning the equivalent of 3 city blocks. It can cater for 85,000 inpatients a year and has a 4 Star Green rating.Achievements:• Lead engineer for fitout works of a commercial kitchen, office spaces, mortuary, plant rooms and laboratory areas.• Management of multiple trade packages from onboarding to closeout. • Lead engineer for client defect validation and rectification.
