Ken is a leading figure in exploration geology, geoscience, spatial information and field data systems. His success as founder of Global GBM, and now with GBM Konect, has been built on a foundation of real-world experience. From cutting his teeth as an exploration geologist in Australia, Fiji, Indonesia and China and working on site in the feasibility study stage at the Ok Tedi mine in Papua New Guinea to guiding Santos and numerous Australian and international customers in implementing web and mobile data systems. Ken is a director and the majority shareholder of Global GBM, the developers of GBM Konect. He is a director and major shareholder of Newtech Exploration Pty Ltd, the holder of exploration permits in Eastern New South Wales with a primary focus on Gold and Antimony. Ken’s early specialisation in project feasibility and resource estimations coupled with a lifetime of interest in field data, has made his contributions to the design and implementation of Konect a driving force. Ken now works with some of GBM Konect’s most important stakeholders, including project partners whose specialist domain knowledge complements Konect’s technology offerings, as well as being an important contact for a diversity of mobile workforce customers including the Northern Territory Government and the City of Greater Bendigo.Ken is a member of the Geological Society of Australia and, through the Australian Geosciences Council, he is a major contributor to the working group developing new digital technologies to highlight and interpret natural and cultural heritage and help establish Geotourism as one of Australia’s new green industries.
