Work with Business Area Managers to guide the direction of VANA with respect to applications, market, and technology. Develop and promote the core products and technology of Von Ardenne at conferences and to customers. Review and approval of VANA legal contracts pertaining to employees, purchase agreements, and publications. Lead the shift in VANA to a self-sufficient subsidiary of Von Ardenne by developing local sales, service, and supply chain activities. Develop and implement overall sales objectives and activities for VANA. Work with Marketing Department to improve brand recognition as a technology leader in vacuum coatings. Work with the General Manager to manage daily activities and escalations within the major departments of VANA; Finance, Service, and Sales.

Drive sales growth in new applications for Von Ardenne technology. Analyze markets and technology for strategic fit with our capabilities and corporate initiatives. Manage the sales and engineering team to meet existing and potential customer requirements as well as achieve revenue goals.

Von Ardenne is a world leader in equipment manufacturing for thin film applications. Well known in the areas of Architectural Glass, Solar, and Metal Strip, we also produce machines for Web Coating and cluster systems for research facilities. Our deposition technology includes magnetron sputtering, ion source modification, electron beam evaporation ,etc. My job responsibilities include development of new thin film applications, market analysis, business development, component testing and selection, as well as high level commissioning support for new installations.

Managed the Ion Source Grid rebuild program. Worked closely with Data Storage customers worldwide to develop technology and reduce the CoO for the ion etch and IBS processes while maintaining or increasing margins for the business unit. This program was subsequently relocated to the headquarters in NY.

In-house production of thin film coatings such as metals, Transparent conductive oxides and insulators. Provide consulting services and technology transfer.

Research plasma based thin film technologies for the Solar, Flat Panel Display, and Industrial markets. Troubleshoot field process issues and provide new product design input. Patent new technology and provide web and conference presentations.

Developed power supply technology for thin film applications in flat panel display and thin film solar technology.

R&D for thin film systems such as web, inline, batch, etc. Mainly covered the display market (PDP and LCD).

Hard to describe. Started in Assembly Documention. Moved to engineering. Worked on the initial development of Ion Sources. Also did SDRC cad design.
