Ken P. is a Records Analyst at Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Colleagues describe him as "Ken Patience and I were colleagues at the Government of Ontario’s Information Management Solutions (IMS) from 2000 until I left the organization in 2003. I had the opportunity to witness his professional development from a record centre clerk to call centre agent to a records officer providing advice and assistance to the high profile justice ministries. Mr. Patience mastered each role quickly and competently and together with colleagues, helped build IMS into a centre of records and information management excellence. Ken worked directly with me on several implementation projects helping ministry staff apply records retention schedules to their program records, assisting with the packing of paper records and the transfer of electronic ones, liaising between ministry staff and the record centre, coordinating the physical transfer of records to off-site storage or their scheduled destruction. Towards the end of my time with IMS, Mr. Patience was playing a leadership role, coordinating other staff and contractors, keeping track of their project hours, solving problems as they arose. No matter what role he played, Ken Patience always displayed a strong customer focus and a commitment to getting the job done on time and on budget. Ken was a great help to me personally. He helped clarify my thinking about knowledge management by saying: “nobody is as smart as everybody” and he provided very thoughtful feedback about our marketing and training materials. I enjoyed working with him as Co-Chairs of the divisional health and safety committee."
