Finished Bioscience engineering major cell and gene biotechnology, minor plant protection in 2008 with Magna Cum Laude. In my master thesis I developed 8 new molecular markers which can be used in the marker assisted breeding strategy to create new apple varieties. Started a PhD at the VIB laboratorium of Molecular Microbiology in 2008. In this PhD I found a crucial link between glycolysis and cell signaling which is a conserved mechanism not only in Saccharomyces cerevisiae but also in higher eukaryotes. This mechanism creates new insights into the Warburg effect observed in cancer cells. I obtained the degree of PhD in 2013.Started working at the university of Gothenburg and the technical university of Chalmers at the end of 2013 on a project involving light induced rhythms in eukaryotic cells as a post doctoral researcher. Beside this project I study a master in management at the Solvay Business School/VUB spread over two years. In my master thesis I study the cruise market in the Baltic region with a focus on the attractiveness of Gothenburg.
