In my 57+ years in the Construction Industry, I find in Semi Retirement the continuous joy of Giving Back to the Industry that gave me & my family such wonderful blessings.Currently I am a Sub-Instructor in the Edmonds School District's Construction Program ,An Advisor for Program Improvements tied to our Industry's requirements, An Advisory Board member. In Conjunction with the Edmonds School District the Lynnwood Rotary is now in Process of Constructing it's 41st home (actually the first of two duplexes). I am the Construction Advisor to the Lynnwood Rotary on this project which is giving High School Students great opportunities for careers in our Industry . Concurrently I am a Sub -Instructor for the Mukilteo's Construction Program thru Sno-Isle Tech Skills Center, and an Advisory Board member.I encourage others approaching Retirement or considering a shift in your Construction Career thoughtfully consider helping our next generation of Young Adults finding a Career in our Industry. I truly believe that not every student Must Attend College, but rather that they get Post Secondary Education . Our industry offers such education ,most of which will get them to Degrees in a Career they will enjoy and have a financial reward more than most college degrees offer. We must educate the General Public & Parents in particular ,to the Fantastic Opportunities that lay ahead for our next generation in our Industry.Ken Pierson
