I am an energetic and experienced attorney and team leader with a proven track record of providing practical legal advice to business stakeholders across a wide variety of business segments in complex, highly-regulated, global organizations. I am intrinsically motivated and passionate about my work--both on my own and as part of a larger team. I am a compassionate and productive team leader who inspires high levels of team cohesion and performance. From my perspective having been both external counsel and now in-house, I believe that effective legal advice must be practical and offered within the risk tolerance envelope of the business being advised. That means that effective in-house counsel must build relationships of trust, communication, and mutual understanding with our business colleagues so that we are seen as their partners, and not as the group that always says "No." Of course, effective legal advice must also be crystal clear about the risks related to particular business strategies and approaches. Effective in-house counsel cannot sugar coat risks or problems, but must confront them head-on in order to work toward effective resolution or avoidance of problems with our business partners.
