In 2008 I was retained to stabilize the workforce and to provide continuity within global treasury services after the retirement of a senior tenured Director. I assumed leadership for three managers, a treasury team of nine, all staff development and training, cash flow management, long and short-term investments, risk management, cash flow forecasts, budgeting, SOX compliance, banking relations, liquidity reporting and process improvement. I introduced a new corporate culture within global treasury that fostered communication, consistency and cross-training, and stabilized the workforce. McDermott acquired four companies in quick succession and I led the seamless integration of all treasury operations. To support the major spinoff of Babcock and Wilcox, I separated treasury operations into two separate teams, and consolidated processes and systems that saved more than $500,000 post spin. I was instrumental in developing enhanced liquidity reports.

During the energy deregulation in Texas, I was recruited to establish a treasury organization to support the spinoff of CenterPoint Energy. In this role, I held leadership for building the entire treasury infrastructure, and oversaw prime and LIBOR rate borrowing, loan repayments, fee payments, notice/rate settings and a $600 million investment portfolio. I utilized rolling forecasts to migrate and manage liquidity with short-term credit facility borrowing after the collapse of the commercial paper programs in 2011. To support the pre and post spinoff of Texas Genco, I executed the seamless migration of all bank accounts, services and processes. I was successful in saving the company $300,000 annually in service fees through skillful negotiations. In addition, I developed the SOX control program for three separate treasury operations to ensure compliance with funds transfers, borrowing and investments.
