UPDATE: Effective January 2017 I have chosen to retire from my position at Provo Canyon School and move on to providing a service that best fits my personal expertise and the 40 years of experience that I've acquired working in the field of Human Services Treatment programming. After having provided direct services and management in various youth treatment settings and also having worked as a State Licensing Specialist and as the Director of the Utah DHS Office of Licensing, I have determined that I can best utilize my talents by providing professional consulting services to agencies and organizations involved in the care and treatment of persons with mental health, substance use, disabilities, juvenile delinquency, and/or children's services issues. My personal conviction is to see that all persons in need receive the best care and treatment possible.(December 2014) Effective this month (12/14) I have assumed the role of Executive Director for the Provo and Orem Campuses of UHS Provo Canyon School. I'm thrilled to be able to take on the responsibility and goal of helping these campuses become the very best in the field of youth treatment and client services.- (Feb. 2014) CEO Brad Gerrard resigned his position with UHS Provo Canyon School effective December 2, 2013 at which time I was asked by UHS to act as Interim CEO until a new one could be selected. Effective this month (2/14) I have assumed the role of Director of Operations and Risk Management for all 4 campuses of UHS Provo Canyon School under the Direction of Dr. Adam McLain who has been appointed the new CEO. - (July 2013) After 36 years with the Utah Department of Human Services, 11 of which I served as the Director of the Office of Licensing, I have decided to retire and accept a position with Universal Health Services as the Executive Director of their 128 bed Pre-Adolescent and Young Women's Residential Treatment program located in Springville Utah.
