Senior Electrical Engineer / Manager (Aug 2000 – Feb 2008)Responsibilities: Manage, lead and develop 7 engineers of varying disciplines within the plant. Manage, lead and develop 16 electricians within the plant on a 24/7, 4 shift scheduled operation. Maintain all high and medium voltage switchgear. Responsible for power from 138KV to 480V including on-site switchyard.  Schedule and coordinate maintenance and service on breakers, capacitor banks, and service lines. Serve as site electrical representative to CINergy, power supplier for plant. Lead Electrical Engineer for projects, maintenance and management reviews. Lead effort and success on energy conservation. In local plant this saved 8% year to year energy costs, 2 years consecutively, over $150K annually.Controls Engineer (Sept 1998- Aug 2000)Responsibilities: Lead largest Rolling Mill electrical maintenance. Including scheduling, organizing and leading internal and external crews. This lead resulting in reducing downtime from 24 hours monthly to only 16 hours. Lead all electrical control efforts to improve performance and throughput on 2 rolling mills. Wrote programs and facilitated the efforts for the SCR hydraulic power unit and rolls. Audited electrical installation and worked with vendors on new shape control systems. Provide 24 hour, 7-day week for 2 automated rolling mills.

Electrical Engineer / Project EngineerResponsibilities: Manage and control all aspects of projects assigned including the mechanical, electrical and financial. Constantly seeking to improve productivity methods and operations with automation, control and monitoring. Experience in Lean Six Sigma, as well as design of experiments and Poke-Yokes. Design new and redesign existing electrical controls and hardware on projects to provide systems that are maintainable with internal maintenance crews. Write all software needed in new controls installed and modify existing software to make it more reliable. Lead and train maintenance teams General Electric Programmable controllers or PLCs. These include Series One, Series 6, 90-30 and 90-70 and ASCII Basic Modules.

Electrical Engineer / Project EngineerResponsibilities: Develop competitive quotes of possible future projects including material and man-hour requirements. Design and develop all electrical control and hardware circuits to meet requirements on projects received from developed quotes. Supervise and assist the shop employees as necessary to ensure that the projects are correct and on schedule. Start-up and debug in field until customer satisfaction is obtained.
