I'm a musician, songwriter, artist, world traveler, inner explorer, recording engineer, mixer...I'm just very interested in the puzzle of existence, and examining the deepest level of reality I can access. While I'm quite engaged in my career, I'm always interested in new connections, new collaborations, learning new skills and ideas, and discussing the deep nature of our presence in the cosmos.With music as my medium, I've crossed the globe countless times, having performed in 95 countries. I've headlined Glastonbury twice; was part of Live8 in 2005 which had a broadcast audience of over 1 billion; I've also played tiny clubs and slept on people's floors. As producer, performer and side musician I've appeared on about 450 albums representing over 9 million physical sales and hundreds of millions of streams. I co-founded my band The Posies in the Pacific Northwest of the US in 1988, and at times served as the band's producer, recording and mixing engineer, manager, tour manager, tour publicist, community manager, and stage hand. I've done composition for film and TV including cutting a live score to picture. I've done some online teaching and I've done a little bit of writing for news outlets. Outside of music I'm interested in literature, film, nature, philosophy, psychology, tennis, wine, and those maddeningly wonderful and terrible embodied contradictions we call human beings.
