Aviation is my passion. It provides the opportunity for me to explore new geographic locations, meet new people and constantly learn new things. Choosing the career of a pilot combines freedom and adventure with operations, safety and regulatory control--all of which are interests of mine. After building professional success in the United States Army and as a member of the Boulder County Sheriff's Department, I shifted my career towards my passion and became a pilot at ExpressJet Airlines where I have continued to progress and gain new skills. Starting off as a first officer, I quickly took on new leadership responsibilities and earned the title of Captain. During my time with the airline, I have developed experience in a variety of large passenger aircraft while also honing my skills in pre-flight, flight and post-flight operations, knowledge of FAA regulations and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. Aside from piloting a variety of aircraft, I have taken the initiative to enhance my professional strengths even further to not only expand my career aspirations, but also support the success of the organization. Some of my career highlights include: ➪ I was selected as the first Standards Manager and also served as Acting Chief Pilot prior to my promotion to Captain. ➪ I was appointed as Check Airman for the Flights Standards department and used my expertise to help develop and deliver training for new pilots, conduct line FAA evaluations and support the integration of new aircraft.➪ Based on my background, I was chosen as the Initial Training Cadre Check Airman for the EMB175 aircraft. ➪ During my time at Boulder County Sheriff’s Department, I launched the Flight Department, including developing processes, procedures and goals.
