I've been a software engineer since '91 when I was hired out of school by IBM to work on OS/2 in the Boca Programming Center (BPC). I worked initially with C and then learned C++ and Object Orientation 'on the job' in 93 while working on OS/2 for the PPC. I Attended OOPSLA in '94 where I took tutorials taught by industry giants such as Scott Myer's and the three amigos - Grady Booch, Jim Rumbaugh, and Ivar Jocobson. I read everything on OO I could get my hands on in this time frame including the Booch's Book, Scott Myer's Effective C++ 1 & 2, and the Gang of Four Design Patterns book. Since then I have read "Modelling in Color" by Peter Coad and "Responsibility Driven Design" by Rebecca Wirfs-Brock. I believe all of these have helped me to become a better software designer.In '96, I started working with Java and have been working almost exclusively with it ever since. Most of my work has been 'on the server side' where I have developed experience with all three major application servers (WebShere, WebLogic, and JBOSS). After leaving IBM in '00, I worked as a the lead architect on a J2EE bond trading site in Buckhead Ga. After that I went to work for Jumpstart Wireless where I progressed to the role of Chief Architect working on a Wireless Dispatch Suite. I took a short stop in XPpoint before being hired by ChoicePoint to work on their REST based web services called XMLDirect. I was the middleware team lead in Oct of O7 when I left to rejoin Jumpstart Wireless. In May of this year, I decided to join my long time friend Kevin Runner at Runner Technologies to help him in development of a web service for his industry leading name and address cleaner - CLEAN_Address.Specialties: I am especially interested in java and open source technologies and frameworks. In terms of open source frameworks and tools, I've worked with ant, maven, struts, hibernate, axis2, and JBOSS Seam. In terms of J2EE technologies, I've worked with Servlets, JSP, EJBs, JDBC, JMS, JNDI, and Java Web Services. My development platform of choice is Kubuntu and I am also skilled with MySql, Apache, and XML. I am currently interested in JBOSS Seam, Java Server Faces (JSF), and AJAX.
