I have 30+ years of experience as a teacher, teacher educator and researcher in the field of Technology & Engineering Education. Also known as Design & Technology, Technology & Engineering Education is recognized as an integral part of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in primary and secondary schools. Along with my wide technical expertise, I also have considerable experience as a vocational-technical trainer and program developer in the corporate world. Although my wife and I have recently returned to the US to be closer to family, I’m still available for consulting positions. I have energy, talents and experience that may be of value to an education organization. My PhD research from the University of Maryland focused on Technology Education Curriculum Guidelines for Developing Countries. This led to a fabulous 25-year adventure working in Asia and the Middle East, particularly Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. During my career, I’ve led program development for new teacher preparation programs, been active in a variety of leadership-administrative roles, and established professional relationships with ministries of education, NGOs, international corporations and organizations (ARAMCO, International Labour Organization, UNESCO), and many tertiary institutions. With numerous book chapters, refereed publications and invited conference presentations, I’ve developed a solid professional profile and reputation. What I’ve enjoyed most about working overseas has been the opportunity to meet and work with individuals from many countries, representing unique traditions. Experiencing and appreciating a variety of cultures has made my career productive and exciting – an experience I am very thankful for.
