I am an educator and school and Kāhui Ako leader with over 23 years teaching and leading experience in schools across Northland, Auckland and the Bay of Plenty. Prior to working in schools, I was an early childhood educator working in centres for a number of years. My most recent leadership role is Midland Regional Manager with BestStart Educare. My strengths include effective communication, being an active listener, building relational trust, developing effective teams, appraisal, coaching and mentoring.One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create positive relationships. These relationships develop mutual trust and respect, which enables an environment of high challenge and innovation to flourish. I support others to realise their potential to lead. I have used these skills to lead my own schools, and more recently, influencing and developing leaders within Kāhui Ako. I read widely, keeping up to date with the latest trends and developments in education and have presented at conferences such as the New Zealand School Leadership Forum.
