Create quotes and proposals for composite projects utilizing closed-cavity vacuum infusion for the aerospace, transportation and alternative energy industries. Communicate project scope with internal stakeholders, define manufacturing processes, develop and maintain schedules for launching programs into production and communicate project status to customer. Participate in PPAP, APQP and PFMEA activities. Work with internal departments to develop facility layouts and specify equipment.

Manage department of four composite technicians implementing closed-cavity lamination methods in the creation of hulls, decks, and assorted fiberglass reinforced plastic parts. Specify resins, fabrics, flow media, and consumables associated with closed-cavity lamination methods. Develop training curriculum and documentation as required. Oversee purchase of capital equipment for use in closed-cavity molding activities.

Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles in a fiberglass lamination facility. Layout production lines to improve flow, minimize waste, and promote visual management. Responsible for the design of jigs and fixtures to aid in the assembly of complex fiberglass parts. Researched and developed cost justification for capital equipment purchases.

In addition to responsibilities outlined under Design Engineer, participated in the design and surface modeling of hulls, decks, and other fiberglass parts and their associated tooling. Responsible for submitting applications to obtain NMMA and CE certification for all new Tiara and Pursuit products manufactured

Managed department of twelve designers and engineers responsible for the generation of interior, exterior, structural and composite specifications of new and existing models of powerboats ranging from thirty to fifty feet in length. Created and monitored new product development schedules utilizing Microsoft Project. Participated in the implementation of "Critical Chain" project scheduling philosophy. Organized and led design reviews of new products. Emphasized "design for manufacturability" during development of new designs. Worked directly with company's owner group in creation of new product concepts.

Responsible for developing interior and exterior design concepts, generation of solid models of interior designs, and creation of 3-D surface models of hull and deck geometries of new and existing products. Specified construction materials and manufacturing methods for interiors. Generated parts lists and assembly documentation to aid in manufacturing of new product. Created "Tab and Slot" method of interior unit construction that is now the standard construction method for all interiors at Tiara Yachts.

Constructed a custom thirty foot wood composite mahogany speedboat. Also participated in the restoration of sixty foot aluminum motor yacht.

Created interior design specifications for new products using conceptual drawings, owner input, and customer surveys. Supported creation of interior mock-ups, selected hardware and fixtures, and defined surface treatments. Developed 3-D wireframe models of new hull and deck designs.
