The aim of the Sourcing Element to the LTS Projects business is to provide savings to clients via its established risk managed supply chains in Asia and Eastern Europe. One of the packages available to clients is a "No Saving" - "No Payment" option whereby payment is based purely on results and a percentage of savings is agreed on the establishment of the acceptance of sample approved components. All components are sourced from comprehensively audited suppliers in Asia, UK and Eastern Europe.We now serve clients predominantly in the UK, Switzerland and Czech Republic.The business has undertaken numerous strategic purchasing transfers to low cost sources, saving an average 35% for clients, whilst ensuring quality standards are maintained as a minimum, and improved as an aim.We also provide a service for the supply of machine tool workholding systems, tooling and accessories from UK suppliers to end users across Europe, providing savings against mainland European suppliers of identical product.LTS Projects has grown turnover by an average of 25% year on yearWe are currently undertaking a major supply chain improvement program for a European client covering both internal and external production of components, incorporating improvements to capacity planning in-house, the introduction of frame agreements and in-line buffer stocking policies at key strategic suppliers. This has resulted in reductions in production backlog, both internally and externally, a reduction in part shortages and a reduction in stock level values due to the buffer stock arrangements for parts that are not paid for until close to point of use.LTS Projects clients take advantage of risk managed logistics supply chains providing high quality component types, including, turned and milled components to high tolerances, plastics, mouldings and castings, sheet steel, fabrications and value added sub assemblies and clean room assemblies.

Responsible for the successful establishment of a risk managed, quality controlled supply chain in China to support manufacturing in both China and the UK. This supply chain provided significant savings of circa 40% to the business, against a targeted scope expediture of £4M each year, over a three year period, and delivered improved component product quality. The logistics element of the project led to reductions in inventory with parts only delivered and paid for at point of use.

Responsible for all Manufacturing Support Services relating to machining and assembly processes. It was my responsibility to introduce Cellular Manufacturing for machining, followed by the Capital Justification to replace each cell with multi functional CNC machines from Chiron, Nakamura and Citizen (£1.5M). Responsible for scheduled maintenance and for all site services inclusive of major property projects. This included the role of Project Manager in the £8M redevelopment of the Hawker Siddeley site in Blackwood, South Wales, and the £3M development of the Whipp & Bourne site in Rochdale.It was during this period that I first became involved in Team Building and Business Awareness Training Workshops, presenting full one-day team building workshops. I was also responsible for compiling and delivering Awareness Training packages of approximately 45 minutes duration, designed to raise the awareness levels of all employees on important subjects such as Quality, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Poka Yoke, Health and Safety, MRP and Stock Control.
