As a student shift leader, I was responsible for making sure that everyone who was on the clock was performing their job to the best of their ability. I was responsible for making sure all the areas of the cafe had the stock that they needed as well as making sure all the employees got their breaks during the shift. I would often work on the line with them and directly interact with customers and serve them whatever they wanted and answer any questions they had. I worked very closely with the shift managers and the contracted staff and would complete any tasks around the kitchen that they needed. These tasks ranged from preparing and cooking food to going to different venues around the university to get supplies for our venue. If any issues came up between staff members, it was also my responsibility to work as a middle-man for the student and the contract worker who were having the issues, as I was still a student and could identify with the student, but was also seen as more trustworthy and responsible by the contracted staff so my position allowed me to work both sides.

I painted the interior of the student dorms as well as offices used by the university staff. Around August 14th, the leader of our paint crew's assistant quit and I was chosen to replace them. From that point on I was responsible for making sure that every other student was painting what they were supposed to, as well as having different rooms to paint for myself. Occasionally, I would also go away from my paint crew and assist the crew chief who was responsible for the 5 different crews that worked around the campus. When I was with her I assisted her in resupplying our paint supply as well as completing individual jobs that an entire crew was not necessary for. For example, me and one other individual painted the office of one of the heads of the department as the head wanted the best individuals to get it done so that it would look nice for her.
