I am a life-long C and C++ programmer—I learned C at age 11 on the original Turbo C/C++ 1.0 compiler for MS-DOS. Within financial technology I have developed two special skills: (1) design and implementation of high frequency trading systems (nanosecond scale) and (2) design of large-scale C++ systems, especially in multi-language environments where quants/traders are the downstream users. In my spare time I hack on LLVM and FreeBSD, the open-source projects that taught me how real large-scale software engineering is done. My passion for real engineering also drives my open source initiative, the Cyril Software Group.
