A Forever Home Rescue Foundation (AFH) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Northern Virginia. We work to find "forever homes" for dogs in need. On average, we place over 1,000 dogs per year into permanent new homes. This means that 1,000 dogs DO NOT enter the government-sponsored "animal shelter" system. It also means that 1,000 families have wonderful new additions that will bring them years of happiness!

As a presales Systems Engineer, I assist our clients in the design of cloud-based environments to support their mission-critical applications while meeting their security, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Virtustream works closely with SAP and other enterprise vendors to deliver cost-effective, reliable hosting solutions for the most demanding applications. Virtustream offers a FedRAMP compliant environment for use by government customers and offers comprehensive security solutions to augment the baseline FedRAMP controls.I work closely with the global pricing team to develop product offerings and pricing strategies and have developed a pricing tool that is used by the pre-sales team to generate customer order forms that adhere to Virtustream policies while significantly simplifying the tasks for the pre-sales engineers.To reduce Virtustream's risk of doing business, I made significant updates to the company's standard Service Descriptions that describe what the company does and how it does it. I work closely with the public sector account executives and routinely deliver customer-facing C-level presentations as part of the sales process.

QBE’s chief cloud architect for the US Army’s ASA(ALT) Common Operating Environment (COE) Data Center Computing Environment (DC CE) effort. My responsibilities include defining cloud computing standards, with a focus on open source and interoperability. The Army is implementing infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to accelerate progress in data center consolidation, virtualization, and standardization. I am also working to define platform as a service (PaaS) standards to enable the Army to transition to a standardized development environment.I am an active participant in the PEO EIS Cloud Computing Working Group, the ASA(ALT) DC CE Working Group, and the P2E APC2 Operations Working Group.

In my current position, I'm responsible for public sector presales activities associated with the Quest Cloud Automation Platform and other Quest virtualization solutions (including vWorkspace desktop virtualization and the full suite of Quest server virtualization solutions).Quest Public Sector is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quest Software which is focused on the Federal and Public Sector customer. As Chief Architect, I am responsible for interfacing with customers at every level. I frequently serve as the “translation layer” between the business and technical sides of the customer’s organization to ensure a complete understanding of the proposed solutions. Additionally, I often engage in public speaking opportunities such as webinars and conference presentations. The focus of the presentations ranges from extremely technical to very high level, sometimes to the point of not even mentioning product names.I also function as a pre-sales consultant for the Quest Cloud Automation Platform (QCAP), Quest Software’s private cloud solution offering. In this role, I present the benefits of QCAP to prospective customers and provide product demos as well as installation and ongoing support for proof of concept and pilot implementations. I have also assumed responsibility for pre-sales support of Quest vFoglight, a virtualization-targeted performance monitoring and management solution which has strong ties to Quest Foglight, a premier application performance monitoring product.I can exploit my extensive virtualization and Enterprise experience to most appropriately match customers' needs with the best technology solutions.

Provide pre-sales support for Quest’s desktop virtualization solution, vWorkspace. Present the business value of desktop virtualization to prospective customers via both in-person presentations and remote presentations and teleconferences. Serve on the product strategy group which served as the steering committee for determining which features would be implemented in future product releases.

Served as a Community Moderator on the VMware community forums. In this capacity, I answered users questions, ensured that users complied with the guidelines for participation in the forums, and mediated disputes, when they arose.

On-site consultant assisting the IRS in their nationwide roll-out of VMware server virtualization technology. Developed methodologies for automating the configuration of the HP Virtual Connect environment, the installation of VMware ESX onto HP bladesystem servers, and the validation of the environment post-deployment.

Designed, documented, & delivered VMware technical architectures for Fortune 100 companies in the Mid-Atlantic region.Supported proposal development activities for RFP responses in the virtualization space.Developed methodologies for affecting P2V migrations, ensuring that all stakeholders were kept informed, that the migration was successful, and that applications functioned correctly in the virtualized environment.

I joined HP via the Compaq merger in 2002. When I came on board, I was an Active Directory architect, helping Fortune 500 companies migrate from Novell Directory Services and to implement LOB applications on top of AD.
