I am a graduating senior at Howard University and a commissioning officer for the United States Air Force. I am in ROTC at Howard where recently served as wing commander for my detachment. During this time, I was the spokesperson for all underclassmen speaking directly to instructors and training. I was ranked number one cadet leading all cadets from all 8 universities in the dc area. During my leadership I had the privilege of representing Howard at the 75th Integration of the Armed forces hosted by Morgan Freedman where I sat on a panel with the first black four star general and several other honorable officers. I’ve received a full 4 year scholarship from AFROTC . With Arnold Air Society I received the Outstanding Cadet Training Assistant award. American Legion Military Excellence Award. National Defense Industrial Association Award and Scholarship. AFROTC Meritorious Service Award, Commendation Award and Achievement Award. This past semester I received the warrior Spirit award,Academic Honors Award, Physical fitness award. I volunteer with the Fulton County Superior Court planning and organizing a yearly event held during the month of June called the Service Juris’ Event which assist families affected by life altering events such as fires, homelessness and food insecurities. I been apart of this cause for four years and its allowed me to be a mentor to many young adults. With both my work mentoring and organizing the event I’ve volunteered over 60 hours.I also did Alternative Spring Break in Jackson Mississippi last spring Break for over 40 hrs assisting Habitat for Humanity building homes, local churches with gutting out old properties to be repurposed and local soup kitchens. We also spent our afternoons speaking with the children of the Boys and Girls clubs about pursuing secondary education.
