I do marketing and placement for All About Seniors [Elderly Board and Care]. We have three lovely care homes for the elderly in the West San Jose/Campbell area. I think residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs) are a great little niche because not only do RCFEs cost less than large luxury assisted living facilities, families and residents feel more at ease and have greater peace of mind knowing that they can speak directly with the owner/operators, the caregivers are compassionate and attentive because of the higher level of personal accountability and greatly improved caregiver:resident ratio, which prevents any of the 6 residents from experiencing a lack of or delay in care and attention. RCFEs will also work harder to keep their residents from having to go to hospitals and SNFs, which improves quality of life, gives seniors a greater feeling of dignity toward the end of their lives, and reduces the trauma associated with moving between various facilities due to changes in care needs. I do the marketing, give tours to prospective clients, send client emails, prepare forms and guide families through each admissions process, administration (maintaining regulatory compliance), setup/maintain IT at all three locations, maintenance work (painting, plumbing, bldg repairs, etc.), run payroll and maintain timekeeping/payroll system, calculate/pay payroll taxes, categorize transactions for tax purposes, add content for social media, train employees on new tech implementations, manage caregiving staff, maintain current administrator license via continuing education, interact with family, doctors, and make/handle requests. I do many other tasks in my multifaceted role as a semi-small business operator.

I was initially hired to help transition to an EMR from a traditional paper medical records system. I would scan patient charts into the electronic medical records program, fill in patient data, and categorize each type of document. The practice was based around worker's compensation claims, both assessing the claims from a medical perspective, and also treating these patients. As the office manager began to recognize my abilities, I was given more responsibilities and eventually, I was doing all the same duties as a medical assistant (i.e. sending/receiving faxes, filing, speaking with insurance companies, calling in prescriptions, and answering patients' questions on the phone). Since the majority of patients were Spanish-speaking, I dramatically improved my Spanish skills and was able to fully converse with and answer the questions of Spanish-speaking patients both in-person and over the phone.

Initially was a sales associate for all departments, since I was knowledgeable in all areas of the store, including digital cameras, personal computers, televisions, and home theater systems/equipment. After a few months, I added more work hours as a "Firedog" computer technician, wherein I would make recommendations to customers for computer software/hardware upgrades, diagnose and repair PCs

Worked as a commissioned sales associate in the Audio/Video department. Learned valuable interpersonal skills, especially how to quickly create an atmosphere of trust with customers.
