After miraculously being selected to become a full-time community college student at the age of 16, my tumultuous relationship with IT began. Upon graduating, I enlisted in the Marine Corps with hopes to become a data systems administrator, and although I achieved this goal, I was miraculously chosen once more. After finishing administrator school, I was sent to MARSOC to become a “Special operations communicator.” This meant I would be trained in several distinct aspects of IT and become the high-speed Jack of all trades.Some of the skills I picked up along the way include: • The configuration and administration of cisco network devices• The deployment of satellite deployable nodes• Building out tactical servers, System administration• Digital forensics• While serving as the help desk technician, accurately articulating information in a way that end users can understand. I have also spent some time working with object creation and management and Active Directory, as well as imaging and domaining countless high-performance workstations.As I now transition out of the service, I am looking to put just a bit more focus into just a few of these areas rather than all of them. While my Journey with IT has been a unique one, it has only just begun.I am open to relocation!
